What's New in JSNDI
NDT'97, the first comprehensive exhibit of NDT technology and equipments, was held at the Tokyo International Exibition Hall, a new convention complex built right in the center of Tokyo, on May 15-17, 1997.
In the seminar rooms of the hall, the spring convention of Japanese Society for Non Destructive Inspection was held on May 15-16 and seminars on new technology was held on May 17.
In the exhibit, corners for consultation, practical solution, how to and test as well as photo display related with NDT are provided besides of some eighty traditional exhibit booths.

Ishii Awards
Ishii Awards were presented to the following six persons for their outstanding contributions to international NDT activities at the Spring Conference of JSNDI on March 26, 1996 in Tokyo.

Enhanced JSNDI/ASNT Agreement Signed
Following a visit to ASNT by representatives of JSNDI, Teruo
Kishi, president of JSNDI, signed an enhanced Agreement for Professional Cooperation with ASNT. ASNT and JSNDI had
such an agreement in the past, but this version contains clarifications and enhancements not in the original agreement.
The agreement was signed in mid-June, following the visit by Haruo Taguchi, general manager of the academic affairs department of the JSNDI; Morio Onoe, executive advisor for Ricoh Co. Ltd. and professor emeritus, Tokyo University; and Koichi Egawa, chief of the JSNDI's international committee. (Copied from September, 1995 issue of Material Evaluation)
